The Security Log on this system is full (Direct from BCC kbs)

Generally comes up when user is trying to log into computer
This issue occurs because no more events can be logged to the Security log on the computer. When events cannot be written to the Security log, only accounts that are members of the Administrators group can log on to the computer.

Fix / Solution
To resolve this issue, use an account that is a member of the Administrators group to log on to the computer. Then, follow these steps to specify that Security log events can be overwritten:

  • Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Event Viewer.
  • Right-click Security, and then click Properties.
  • In the Log Size area of the Security Properties window, click the Overwrite events as needed option under When maximum log size is reached.
  • Click OK.
  • Close Event Viewer.

Disable Onscreen Keyboard on Tablet PC (Direct from BCC kbs)

  • Login as Administrator in the computer
  • Go to Start >> Run
  • And apply the following command:
  • regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Ink\loginkey.dll"
  • Hit the OK button on the message
  • Restart the computer

This will disable the onscreen keyboard to come up on the login screen which is annoying for most of the users

Alternately the following command can be run to enable the feature
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Ink\loginkey.dll"
